5 FREE English and Maths online learning to help students achieve during the Coronavirus pandemic

So, the big question on everyones mind is, “how do I provide the best level of support for my child during the coronavirus pandemic?”

Here are 5 valuable online learning platforms you can use to help your child:

1. Khan Academy

Although an American based grading system, it is a non-profit, free to use online learning platform. It is mostly valuable for helping students Science & Maths but has lots of material for you to browse through. They have also created daily schedules for students ages 2-18 to keep them learning through the coronavirus pandemic.

2. Twinkl

From educational games to free worksheets, Twinkl is a teacher-made website with lots of really useful resources. They also have a wide range of resources to support and deliver all aspects of the Recovery Curriculum throughout the EYFS, KS1 and KS2. These resources will help reception pupils transitioning back to, or starting school, after lockdown to manage the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on their personal, social, emotional and academic development.

3. Sumdog

An engaging games platform to help students in Maths, Spelling and Grammar. Primary Maths is free however if you find your child takes a like to it you might want to consider the family membership to gain access to a variety of more games.

4. BBC Bitesize

From Year1-11 BBC bitesize has developed daily lessons for students to access throughout the summer in both English & Maths. This ranges from various worksheets to activities with clear videos to aid learning!

5. Achieve at home

An online learning platform taught in groups of two – Students Achieve are giving all students a FREE week subscription. All students aged 5-16 will be posted a recovery curriculum booklet for English & Maths to work from during the summer.
